Principal

Alex has always seen the world through the lens of beautiful things. Trained in art history and shaped by years of designing across Canada and the design capitals of Europe, she developed a deep understanding of the movements and makers and that have defined aesthetic distinction across centuries. When DWA, an institution in the local design community, came up for sale in 2016, Alex brokered a deal built on years of mutual respect to purchase DWA and stepped in with a clear vision: to honour what the business had always stood for while injecting fresh energy and an evolved point of view.

Today she leads DWA through the two things she has always done naturally — taste and relationships. Her curation reflects an eye refined by decades of travel, study and an instinctive feel for what truly belongs in an exceptional collection. Her supplier partnerships are built on trust, and her standing in the design community on something simpler still: a genuine, lifelong belief that classic design and beautiful things make the world a better place.
